OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

The organization would have happily given him a max deal in aav and length with a handshake agreement to trade him anywhere he wanted to go.
Sure buy why take a risk if your the Raps

Leonard has all the leverage , demands a trade to a few teams who give up shit in return

because then you win more. If we had made another deep run or two and heaven forbid another title and Kawhi turns around and asks to go to the Clippers, who gives a fuck what you get in return as long as it's not toxic assets locked in long term.

Long term toxic asset doesn’t even really exist in the nba any more.

Don't know if I agree with that. We just watched Beal drag the Suns into a buy out. The Sixers tried to move on from Paul George and had no one interested. I guess we can argue what "long term" means in the context of a league with 4-5 year contracts, but any bad salary that isn't expiring is seen as a "long term" bad contract for the most part.

about time some salary sanity hit the NBA

He's not terrible, but he's not good either. Tough to be a mid sized big in the NBA right now unless you're positionless and can do a bit of everything, or a specialist and are really good at one thing (shooting or defending/rebounding)
