OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Still funny that our $60-70m in offseason adds has given us this:

Gimenez 1.0war
Scherzer 0.4war
Hoffman -0.3war
Santander -0.9war

Total 0.2war

and we're in first place.

Though I guess I could/should include Straw's 1.9war in there given he was a non-insignificant money add too.
 
surprising that Scherzer's number is so low. Obviously he lost time early but has been pretty useful for a while. I do think having him on the team has benefitted them A LOT off the field, something that can't be measured but seems fairly obvious seeing how everyone else interacts with him.
 
Gimenez’s defence is as good as advertised. His bat is even worse. He’ll make $90M over the next 4 years.

And some people don’t want to sign Bichette.

Almost everything the management tried to do to improve the team has failed.
 
Santander coming back healthy in that spot is huge.

Lifting Barger vs a LHP is the correct move, but Straw/IKF as the options is not ideal

Also, they cannot send Davis down when Anthony comes back, i think you DFA France

Barger gets pinch hit for not by Straw, who actually hits lefties, but by Falefa, who doesn't. Straw comes in as defensive replacement anyways.




all this because they want to believe Gimenez and Falefa are actual viable hitters.
 
Yep great prediction by the manager, before all the other pinch hits, that the Os would ignire that stat and bring in cano to face gimenez.
