Nearly six decades, actually, but point taken.Spin and put words into my mouth all ya want.
You are not going to convince me that there wouldn’t have been any benefit to having a guy with a chronic injury who’d previously missed an entire month due to said injury rest for a couple of weeks in-season, instead of spending two weeks playing in a playoff-style best-on-best tournament.
It’s a dead simple, easy decision to make if the player’s priority is to give themselves the best possible chance to finally lead their team to some playoff success after a decade of abject failure.
Don’t mind him he hates Halloween.
Great word salad...Keep spinning and inventing straw man arguments, spinderella.
Apparently it’s all you’ve got here.
Very few members of the current roster were alive in 1967, so it isn't fair to blame them for what happened before they could attempt to address it.Nearly six decades, actually, but point taken.
When you put on the jersey, you become culpable. Not winning the Cup since 1993 isn't Nick Suzuki's or Lane Hutson's "fault", but as Habs they are now and forever "responsible" for the fact that they've not won it since then. The weight of expectations always falls on whoever puts on that sweater. It isn't fair; it just is what it is.Very few members of the current roster were alive in 1967, so it isn't fair to blame them for what happened before they could attempt to address it.
Much like no active hab is responsible for not winning the cup for the past 32 years.
What if presto was the “doctor”?The man was cleared to play by actual DOCTORS, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to play for your country. Every player was excited about that tournament.
The closest person to a doctor here is Presto anyway, so I agree with his diagnosis. Hating on Matthews for this is just like Donald Trump trying to fit a star shape through a hexagon hole here. IMO.
I'll take another 200 fluke goals please, you know the ones where a blue sweater is standing in front of the net and wins a puck battle? Yep, more please.Blais scoring that fluke goal was a disaster

He also plays with "Jam", can "Battle", plays the "Playoff style", and brings "Leadership".Blais is a Stanley Cup Winner
(Who couldn’t even make the Habs)
