I think he'd be nuts to give up that cash, honestly. he ain't getting 2-3 million for 2 years in Europe, unless I'm way off on that market(?)

well his salary is $1.1m, and his bonus this year is paid.

I imagine he could get close enough to his salary for the 2yrs. He'd make most of that back if his contract was terminatd and he signed league minimum somewhere else.

Not sure if he could recoup next year's $1.3m bonus tho. But then again, sitting in the AHL is probably hurting his ability to sign for more than league minimum when this contract expires anywyas.

Even with this year's bonus being paid, between now and the end of next season he's owed just shy of $3.5M. Really think he'd be lucky to find any European club that'd be willing to fork out half has much as that for the next two years of his services.

But who knows, maybe he'll throw logic out the window and Filip Zadina it.

again though, I don't think he'd have much problem getting most or all of his ~$1m salary covered, whether that's in europe or in the nhl after a termination.

so for him the question for him is whether losing the $1.3m bonus is worse than tanking his potential earnings on his next contract.

Allen Iverson gif replacing "practice" with "next contract".

yeah you kept saying his first 60 goal year was likely his peak/fluke and was never likely to repeat it. that was 5yrs ago.
