Aaron Ward was on TSN690 prior to game 3 - at an event w retired NHLers Ray Bourque, Buchberger, former Habs Gionta, Erik Cole, Metropolit & others. He said they were all puzzled w Habs having had strong two road games, why they should even consider changing the lineup.
Went on to say all felt from a players perspective it would send the wrong signal that it’s time to panic, which it was not at all. They all believed if any lineup changes are to made for Habs it should be late in the series game 6 / 7
Habs bottom-6 outscoring TBay bottom-6, while both team top-6 cancel each other out is perfectly valid strategy. Simply need to win… no style point are awarded for who scores
Iirc, in 2011, Plekanec vs Krejci matchup:
Krejci had 1 point in 7 games vs Habs then went on to lead playoff scorers with 23 points.
Sometimes the hazards of matchup make some players look especially poor against others - the speed of Cirelli & Hagel combined w their elite defensive game + experience, are a bad match for Suzuki line
