Around the League 2019-2026 Edition

Lee is still real good. I assume he wants big money but if the term is short I’d pay him.

He scored 19 goals on a 6% SH 5v5. Still one of the best chance generators 5v5.
 
along with the Barzal rumor, starting to feel like the isles might be selling a bit and rebuilding around schaefer.

obvious target would be Horvat. 31yrs old next year, signed for $8.5 x5yrs now.

Barzal himself could be a target too, at 29yrs old and signed for $9.2 x5yrs, especially if the nerds think he can play C even though he's been mostly a winger the past few years.

Schenn is 35 and signed for $6.5 x 2yrs. He's still ok but more of a 3C now.

Pageau is 34 and just starting a $4.9 x3yrs contract, but i don't think he's any good anymore.

Pulock is 32 and signed for $6.2 x4yrs.

Pelech is 32 and signed for $5.8 x3yrs.

I'd be interested in all of them tbh.

Though Schenn and Pageau would have to be for a minimal price.
 
Barzal would require some sort of Rantanen package. I don't have the appetite for that.

Not sure what it would take to get Horvat, but if it's the Avs 1st and some secondary prospects, I could go for that. I don't want to trade Cowan though, if that's what would be needed. If they could be fooled into thinking Maccelli is any good, that would be amazing. Heck, Carlo too.

Not super excited about Lee.

Isles are never clearly competing or not competing. They're such a weird team every year.

Serious question though....what is a 31 yr old 8.5 x 5 55-65pt #2 centre worth in trade?

Schenn just went for a 1st and a 3rd, but St Louis had to take Drouin's 4 million for next year. I don't see why Horvat would cost much more than that value wise.

and that's with the Isles' PP not being great.

and he's good defensively.

Horvat is significantly better and 3.5 yrs younger
