Also Chayka specifically said they want to give the Marlies opportunities to earn a spot, so they aren't blocking Villeneuve/Danford with a "good #6" that costs $3.5 million and isn't a fit.
Hope we didn’t trade Woll for nothing

That's a direct bite of my post pages ago. That just sounds like his opinion. And not like we haven’t discussed here what an ideal trade centerpiece Harley would be.
It still comes down to where Werenski wants to play, though. And what we’ve got to hope for is that Werenski would prefer coming to play here with Matthews over going to a Robertson-less Stars team.
And who knows—maybe there’s the bones of a three-way deal there where Columbus ends up with Harley to replace Werenski, Knies goes to Dallas to replace Robertson and we get Werenski.
Though it’s basically impossible for him to be as bad as last year. He’ll be behind Raddysh, Tanev is back, Carlo/Benoit are gone, so no more having to play with turds in a Biff system. His xgf wasn’t that much worse than other years, but his gf was way worse which I think again speaks to the catastrophic effects of being under Biff.If Dakota Joshua was a ufa he'd probably get 3m but for like 3-5 years. 3.25 for only 2 more seasons is probably actually below market value, which is crazy to say. Definitely not a problem contract.
Mo's is a bit more complicated because if he's as bad as he was last year, then yeah it's an issue.

You will be hearing from my lawyer![]()
It's fine that you're confident in his recovery, but what I mean is that much of the league will have to see it to believe it before they find the contract particularly tradable. Or at least tradable for value.Though it’s basically impossible for him to be as bad as last year. He’s going to have a very good year if we just leave him be back there. Honestly, my big worry is whether Tanev can be Tanev again and if we should be adding a guy now on the assumption that he’s not.
I just don’t believe there’s anywhere but up for him at 32 and not having lost a step visibly in terms of skating, durability, etc. moving from Biff to Hiller will be huge for him. It's fine that you're confident in his recovery, but what I mean is that much of the league will have to see it to believe it before they find the contract particularly tradable. By definition, it's more likely nowhere but down from him as a 32 year old. But I get what you're saying.I just don’t believe there’s anywhere but up for him at 32 and not having lost a step visibly in terms of skating, durability, etc. moving from Biff to Hiller will be huge for him.
This is what I keep emphasizing. Last year doesn’t count for shit. It was a trainwreck and usually there’s no one doing all that well in trainwrecks.I'm pretty willing to wipe last year from the slate for everyone, regardless of age.
