The Official 2026 Off-Season Thread: Revenge of the Nerds

I think everyone can agree last year was bad, but I think everyone should also be optimistic about the year ahead. And don’t we want to see one of our core guys who has been a very good Leaf all these years be given a shot under the new system before we dump him for no value? There’s just no need or urgency to make such a move.

I don't think anyone is advocating to dump him for nothing. Obviously he must be replaced if he goes, they're trying to improve. It's ok to acknowledge that his contract is questionable though. That's the only thing being discussed right now.
 
There's nothing on Bob other than speculation (based on trading woll).

There was a whole article in the sun yesterday about the leafs wanting to add lots of goalie depth and the whole article just talked about chayka's quote aboit stolarz being the best goalie on paper and both hildy and akhty looking good and drafting two goalies....and then added in one sentence about the bob 'rumour' in the middle.
 
That's what I'm hanging on to. This would not make sense. Both based on what he has said, his track record in doing things that make sense, and his history with goaltending.
 
If he’s serious about competing and not ready to rely on two kids, he can’t be too happy with Stolarz being his go to. Even if it’s not Bob, he should try to get someone who can be healthy all season.
 
They traded the worst goalie in the league last year for a 5th round pick. If they turn around and sign the second worst goalie to any contract, much less one with actual significant dollars attached to it, I'll be both furious and stunned.

Elliotte sounds way too confident about this one so I'm concerned.
