If he scores at the exact same pace he did last season for a full year, he'll put up 26g 50p. And he only played 14:26 minutes a game last season. AND he plays a good 2-way game. AND was even better in the playoffs.

If he gains some confidence from his bump last year and an even bigger bump in the playoffs, plus gets a legit look at 2C with Demi. We could be looking at a pretty impressive season.

Is he the 2C I want and I think we need? No. If (I know it's a pretty big if) all those things come together, can he exceed what we all thought he was? I think so. It's not like he's some bum who never had any sort of pedigree. It wouldn't be unheard of for a good center prospect to really come into their own at 25-26 years old.

I like Newhook . . . but I want to win the Cup in the next couple of years. I just don't see that happening if he's our 2C.
 
I’m thinking next 4-5 years.

But yah, Hage gets a top 6 spot. There’s still a gap in the line up. It won’t be Newhook or Kapanen who fills it.

As much as a legit 2C would be the biggest difference maker for us... we really need a good winger too. I actually think Newhook is closer to being a good 2C than Bolduc or Dach is to being a good 2nd line winger.
