A full year playing 2C with Demidov and he'll definitely not be lacking finish.

So is the Newhook love. He had a nice playoffs, congrats. He's a solid 3rd liner on a very good team.
If he scores at the exact same pace he did last season for a full year, he'll put up 26g 50p. And he only played 14:26 minutes a game last season. AND he plays a good 2-way game. AND was even better in the playoffs.
If he gains some confidence from his bump last year and an even bigger bump in the playoffs, plus gets a legit look at 2C with Demi. We could be looking at a pretty impressive season.
Is he the 2C I want and I think we need? No. If (I know it's a pretty big if) all those things come together, can he exceed what we all thought he was? I think so. It's not like he's some bum who never had any sort of pedigree. It wouldn't be unheard of for a good center prospect to really come into their own at 25-26 years old.
I like Newhook . . . but I want to win the Cup in the next couple of years. I just don't see that happening if he's our 2C.

We can't always get what we want
Wanting Newhook not to be a top 6 forward is not a huge ask.
