Hmm ... interesting. For one thing, the Canes love themselves a pick so don't be expecting them to act like the Penguins and throw them around willy nilly. Second, yeah ... I get it. If you consider Puljujarvi to be a prospect/project at this stage of things, his upside is significantly higher than a lot of the tweener guys we've got in the system. You'd probably park him in Charlotte and try to get his head screwed on straight, but it's probably worth a shot. Again, if it pays off ... it pays off big. But I definitely wouldn't give away too much to get this guy. If the ask makes you uncomfortable, just walk away.
For the record, it probably makes even more sense for Tampa, depending on the prospect heading the other direction. They have very little in their development pipeline after an extended run at the Cup and the subsequent low draft position. That's a classic position where you take some shots deep in terms of risk.
