No one else in the office, so let the gods make love!
You may face the same issue in the Carolinas too. I95 is far enough to not be affected by a storm surge, but if the Pee Dee and/or Cape Fear rivers flood, you’re stuck. And the Sandhills are going to get the worst of it here.
I'm likely coming back through Atlanta, as dumb as that sounds.

^^ My wife had a thoroughbred gelding she evented under the name of Voodoo Chile. You could tell which ring announcers got it whenever they called her turn in the jump arena or to go on the cross country course. Heard Voodoo Chili & Voodoo Doll called over the loud speakers at the show grounds. She took him to win Horse of the Year for the state with the NCDCTA a couple of years. He was an off the track thoroughbred who had a workman attitude, but didn't like most people. They don't always get treated well as racehorses & are considered disposable. Once they fail to put up good lap times, Lots of the horses get discarded. Some horses wind up as dog food, some become pasture ornaments, & some get second careers. He was my buddy and he absolutely loved root beer barrel candy. Love the song and the horse I named after it was an absolute champion.

We headed home from the Wide Open Bluegrass festival in Raleigh last night & cut through Durham to get there. Power was out from North Duke Mall, all the way to just below St. Mary's Rd. We got lucky that a few pockets of power remained closer to Hillsborough & our house was in one of them. Crescent Farm by Pleasant Green & Schley Roads is out. The big farm is out of power, but the only trees down are in the woods & none are across fences (wooo!). Only 2.3 inches of rain fell there, while we got ~3.5".

Clemson’s D dominated. State is good but not at that level.
Their front 4 just rolled States oline
Same with us. Glen Eden and Blue Ridge were really dark. We got power back around 3:30am.
Fwiw, Twisted Pine are amazing.

Twisted Pine did a fine job. Glad we got to enjoy them indoors. I had issues with how loud the bass was turned up on several bands, though some of that could be due to my effed up hearing...too much LOUD rock & roll, plus years of unprotected shooting took a toll. It took 3 days for my ears to quit ringing after seeing The Who from the 3rd row in 1980 & Rush was similar that same year. Also, Dickey Betts & Great Southern left every cell in my body in pain from excess volume 3 or 4 years ago at the Carolina Theater. They were good, but painfully loud. They definitely had it turned up to 11.
Peter Rowan's band was one my favorites on Friday. I've had Old and In The Way since it came out in 1973 or so. There's not too many of the players from that album left.
I'm a big fan of The Infamous Stringdusters. When Sierra Hull sat in with them last night, it was freaking magic. I have gone and will go to see them anytime they get close to here. Bluegrass jam bands loaded with super talented musicians is hard to beat. Go listen to the Stringdusters, Greensky Bluegrass, or Billy Strings to get what I'm saying. I dig some traditional Bluegrass too, not much into gospel (probably because I already know I'm going to hell), though you will find high quality musicians in any vein of the genre.

Meh. It's a long old year and Clempson isn't all that freaking good despite how well they played last night. They gave State all the game they had, and that was the first time this season they've actually shown up in all phases. It wouldn;' shock me at all to see them get dinged at least once in conference. State's real challenge is to buck their history and recover from that loss quickly. If you beat FSU and Wake (tough, but do-able) then there could well be something to play for when all's said and done.

I believe he was, yes ... although I couldn't cough up his user name at gunpoint. That's a good hire, IMO. Cory is by far the best writer of the alt papers and blogger crew ... no offense to any of the others lurking. He only dabbles in personal interests and hot takes whereas the rest of that crew tend to act like that stuff is some sort of objective. Cory has always taken it a bit more seriously and professionally. I'm sure he'll do well.
That said, he is the polar opposite to Civian in style and that weird social media/comments section cult she built will get bored of him quite quickly.

And from what I can tell, the Canes online community isn't always a huge fan of people who don't get sucked into their fantasy world. You know, the world where Jake Bean is an obvious future Norris candidate, Ned is going to win multiple Vezinas and Hayden Fleury is the best young D on the team. They bloody hate me when I actually engage ... which is virtually never these days. I save my truth telling for you clowns
