That's a load of shit. Washburn and Shack left on fairly poor terms, correct? No fake class fake degrees for them. And Dean had wood for both of them.
I could go on, but it's pointless.

Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway, Matt Murphy, Ray Charles...what a cast! I don't own many movies on DVD, but that's damn sure one of them. The Blues Brothers movie was great, if for no other reason than reuniting Willie Hall, Duck Dunn and Cropper.
For anyone born in the US between the 50s and the dawn of the 21st century, the Stax sound is part of their DNA whether they like it or not. Memphis soul became at least part of the soundtrack of everything, and the house band (Cropper, Dunn, Hall, Booker T and others) massively influenced the culture. Those guys, the Memphis Horns and the Swampers down in Muscle Shoals put their stamp on American music in a way that almost defies description because their influence bled out across all sorts of genre and social lines. And Cropper, you could argue, was the glue that held most of it together. Just a kid that Jim Stewart hired to help out at the studio because he was always around who somehow managed to blend the country, blues and early rock and roll he listened to as a kid with R&B rhythms. Cropper was the absolute king of the right riff at the right time. His playing was never flashy, but it sat perfectly in between the rhythm section and the lead and made the whole thing move together. He was like instrumental grease.I was a deejay at a non-commercial college FM radio station in the mid-70's.....in Memphis, so this music flowed through my musical DNA.

For sure. How many times have you heard Green Onions as the background music for a commercial?Fair edit ... TV commercials alone have seeped this stuff into everybody's brain.
That beats the bloody Bejsus out of most other options. For sure. How many times have you heard Green Onions as the background music for a commercial?
Have you looked at the lyrics for āRock You Like a Hurricaneā?That beats the bloody Bejsus out of most other options.
I always laughed at the car or cruise line that used Iggy's Lust for Life in a commercial. Did those morons read the damned lyrics? Like the first stanza?
And the Pack using Welcome to the Jungle for kickoffs. Completely appropriate.
It's been a long time, but it's sex & rock'n'roll.Have you looked at the lyrics for āRock You Like a Hurricaneā?
I guess ... but its not like they're good or anything. The whole division is trash.Panthers tied for first. Unreal.
I would have had them with maybe three wins at this point, so even in a crap division itās pretty amazing.I guess ... but its not like they're good or anything. The whole division is trash.
They are a much better football team. They are very young and do what young teams do. They beat the Rams, Packers, cowboys then lay an egg against the likes of the falcons and saints. They have tons to build on for next season but I still think young will hold them back if they extend him. But honestly, the qb class this year is trash so itās not like they can improve on him in the draft this year soI guess ... but itās not like they're good or anything. The whole division is trash.
If they get into the playoffs they can win a game. Theyāre boring like theyāve been in the past 5 years. Canales is a really good coach. If they add a few pieces in the offseason they have a real chance at sustained success they havenāt seen since Delhomme and Cam had them winning games. If they decide to keep Bryce (I hope not) then they can still be successful with a good defense and he just manage the game without turning the ball over like heās done in their big wins this season.Oh, they're better for sure, they're just not good. They're mediocre. Which is WAY better than the previous couple of years.
Not a State fan, but good luck to the Wolfpack and also to your daughters beloved Furman. In case anybody missed it, and it's Men's NCAA soccer so there's no reason not to have missed it, NC State qualified for the College Cup in Cary over the weekend which is soccer's Final Four. And my daughter's beloved Furman also qualified. State will play St Louis in one semi while Furman takes on Washington in the other. That's two unseeded teams against a 15 and a 16 seed. Underdog central. The Semis are Friday 12/12 and the final will be on 12/15.
Furman is a nice campus in a beautiful setting. And not too far from downtown to feel isolated. I can easily see why alums would be fond of the place. In case anybody missed it, and it's Men's NCAA soccer so there's no reason not to have missed it, NC State qualified for the College Cup in Cary over the weekend which is soccer's Final Four.
