Yeah, we’ll see what it turns into, but for now it looks like a nasty ice storm and we haven’t had one of those in the Triangle for quite awhile. There’s really no good way to drive on that stuff without chains or studs, so best of luck to anyone who has to be out and about.

That’s the paradox of this era of MLB. The game itself is healthy and watchable but the financial model is comprehensively broken so you just know it’s not gonna last for long.
 
OK, so far so good with the storm … but keep it tight, because there’s still more to come and thaw-out temps don’t look likely for several days.

And it appears that there are not a lot of people playing cowboy on the road, which should help a lot.
 
Just went outside for the first time since yesterday afternoon, and boy, that is some thick ice on our street. Yuck. Cary Parkway looks to be about 99% clean, though.
 
I will say for those of you that have a few pucks and sticks in your garage, get out there and shoot on that beautiful sheet of ice on your street, it doesn’t happen often!!!

New Bern Ave. was clear. However, for some reason, Morgan St. was not cleared west of whatever runs N/S.

And no one cleared out my office lot. Damned bums!
 
Everything that is exposed to full sun is melting off pretty good right now. My local Chow Pussy (as my wife calls them) is open and has mostly full shelves.
 
I’ve got some bare patches on my street in NW Wake. So they’ll be patches of black ice in the morning.
