2019-Whenever Misc. Grab Bag Thread

NC is disappearing right before my eyes. Can't find a Krispy Kreme, but there's now a Duncan on every corner. Exactly what this place need is a few more Five Guys, Duncan's, coffee shops and Panera Breads. (I'm still mad there's a Panera where Fat Daddy's used to be)

Tim Hortons and Starbucks the two most overrated places on the planet

I can make you a better cup of coffee with some Maxwell house and a dirty filter
I have coworkers who will pay $20 to have a milkshake delivered to work from Starbucks. No, I meant milkshake, that 36oz frozen drink is as much coffee as tap water.

Everytime I go into Panera Bread and buy my favorite autumn squash soup I gripe about the cost. They’ve figured this game out. They get you to order on your own, you go pick up your order, you get your drinks and you cleanup when you’re done. And they still get ya for a 15 buck bowl of soup, tea, and a piece of bread. Genius!

Doesn’t work if you don’t go there.

I clean up by getting the bread bowl and eating the sumbitch

I go to Harris Teeter and have them make me a half sized sub that I don't even finish right away most of the time for $4.99. And 16 oz sodas from the machine at work are $1.75. Works for me.

The greatest days ever are when I walk into a Harris Teeter and there's a guy crushing a bucket of store made fried chicken all by himself in their little cafe area. It's a rare sighting, but a beautiful one.

Those usually take me 3-4 sittings. Two if I'm hungry.

NoMich’s list of best days ever:
1. Guy downing bucket of chicken in HT
2. Hurricanes win Stanley Cup in ‘26

Someone at work one day asked how the hell I was getting food from Lowe's. Is there even one near here? Yeah right up the street, Lowe's Foods. They didn't know what I was talking about. No wonder they keep closing stores.
They spend a bunch of money on billboards that apparently nobody reads. I85 has been lousy with their stuff for almost a decade.

Also when somebody tells me they’re eating at Lowe’s I just assume they’re getting a parking lot hotdog.

Lowes Foods is about 5 minutes from my house. It's never crowded. No lines. Expensive. But sometimes the extra money is with not having to deal with 7,000 people in Harris Teeter, Food Lion or Walmart. And I like their salad bar.

I've been to the one in K-dale a few times and it's a good food store, I suppose.

I usually go to HT in Cameron Village because it's close to the office and I like to ogle the local NCSU hotties.

The Costco food court in a pinch always comes through! The large pizza for $10 is a great deal and who doesn’t love the $1.50 hot dog combo!!!
