2024 Draft

Fowler was a homerun
Maybe. Goalies develop weird.

Actually all the goalies we drafted did well. So let's draft more this year and trade them for offensive talent.

The weird overage draft strategy sucked.

In his most recent talent rankings, Pronman drops Demigod to 8 best prospect… just behind Catton and Sennecke

I would draft a goalie every year but not in round 1 and hope one hits one day

If taken solely in term of potential and ceiling, that doesn’t seem too off.

Skill grades are evaluated based on 5-criteria:
- Skating
- Puck skills
- Hockey sense
- Compete
- Shot

Pronman views this as an avg draft cuvée
I think the top 10 will be a very good draft like 2015 minus McJesus , with no major busts .

There are too many good D that fit top 4 on any team

Point rate is more important than total points imo

Well, Catton had 1.71 PPG this year in the WHL, this sits as the 3rd highest PPG for a WHL draft eligible player over the last 20 years. He only follows Connor Bedard (2.51) and Sam Reinhart (1.75).

As much as people (for some bizarre reason) want to downplay Berkly Catton, the numbers say different. They say he has the potential to be a generational player. And if one looks into the intangibles (drive, commitment, IQ, competitiveness), it only bolsters that possibility. And not to mention he did this on a very weak team, with linemates who had no business on any CHL teams #1 line.
