Legault cut the outside of his hand. Still bad but a less complicated surgical fix and recovery. It's why is timeline was 3-4 weeks instead of 6-8.

Unless LA was going to commit to a rebuild this coming summer when Kopitar retires, they really didn't have much choice but to extend Kempe ... even if they had to over-term and over-pay him. Which they kind of did.

Winnipeg extended Adam Lowry, 5 years, $5 million AAV. He‘ll be 38 when it expires. He’s in the last year of a 5 year contract at $3.25 million. We’ll see him tomorrow, he’s their captain and centers their shutdown line with Alex Iafallo and Nino Niederreiter. He also had hip surgery in the offseason.
