2025-26 NHL Miscellaneous Thread

Matt Tkachuk has returned to the Panthers' lineup tonight. So far, he's not having much impact; through two periods, the Cats are down to the Sharks, 3-0.

Luke Hughes dislocated his shoulder last night in Calgary. Hamilton might not be traded after all.

Neds on what led to him getting into it that led to the goalie fight: "it was a bullshit play. the whistle had blown and [his teammate] was in a defenseless position because there was no expectation of a hit from Rodrigues." LOL. Good for him. The rest of the league needs to start doing this to Florida after their "bullshit plays" after the whistle.

Honestly, I don’t think it would matter. They’ve managed to slide all the way to 13th in the East and their goaltending is broken again. NJ can talk themselves into “only being 5 points out” but that ignores the 4 teams between you and the last wildcard. It’s unlikely to happen regardless of what you do in the back end and if they can find a taker for a declining Dougie, they just just get what they can and hope Nemec benefits from the icetime

Sharks still leading 3-1 with 14 minutes left, but the game highlight will undoubtedly be the Nedeljkovic-Bobrovsky GOALIE FIGHT!!!

I’ve seen better punching from two seals fighting … and they only have flippers. Kind of shocked that Bob got past the fun police though. NHL refs have been all but tackling goalies who look like they’re even thinking about fighting.

Came back to note that, yet again, all that nonsense in the Sharks/Panthers game was trigged by a dirty hit from Rodrigues that, you guessed it, went uncalled. This is NOT difficult stuff for even the stupidest refs. You make that call right then and save yourself piling 6 guys into the sin bin later on. Additionally, how does Bob avoid an instigator? He flew down the ice and attacked a guy who was clearly not looking to engage with him and only saw him coming at the last second.

Best as I can tell, they got Cap compliant by burying Noah and Studnika and putting Seth Jones on LTIR … even though it’s unlcear that he’s going to be out all that long. Jones’ injury to this point had been reported as “day to day.” To get Jones back on the active roster, they’re going to have to dump $6 million somehow.

Have you ever tried to fight with 40 pounds of goalie year on? The chest protector does not really benefit those wishing to throw haymakers.

That's the crutch of the matter in a nutshell though with this league...the blatant shit to start everything last night goes uncalled, then all the rules that are placed in the NHL rulebook that are there to contain those types of incidents are ignored and they do not even attempt to enforce their own rules with what you touched on with Bob. And this stuff goes on nightly, it's a pattern that never gets addressed, never gets fixed and frankly the league snubs their noses at players, coaches and fans alike that call them out on all of it. How can you be that stupid and that ignorant to it all?

They’re both minimum salary guys, so they cleared $1.55 million. PuckPedia shows them with Studnicka still on the roster but Gregor in Charlotte. With Studnicka gone, they have a little under $1.8 million in cap space. Jones’ cap hit is $7 million, so they’re in a bit of a bind.
