Also … Lindgen apparently hurt himself on that play, and Logan Thompson was injured in Washington’s last game. God knows who they put in net against Carolina on Saturday.

Thompson took a shot of the mask the other night. If he’s in the protocol, he might be out tomorrow.

They had Clay Stevenson as the backup last night. He’s the starter in Hershey, where he’s at 2.57/.912 in 24 games this season. His only NHL appearance was last year, he gave up 5 goals on 38 shots against the Pens on the last day of the season.

It's my understanding that Thompson IS in the protocol, and that they’re hoping that Lindgren can shake off whatever happened to him enough to back up. Also, with the Olympics looming, I doubt they’ll push it with Thompson. But, this is the NHL and head injuries are pretend … until they aren’t.

Swayman had a delay of game penalty.
