Oh? Shows what I know. I thought once you're qualified you can't be offered sheeted, but it also allows the player to just accept the qualifying offer and walk into UFA next season, and that's why you wouldn't just qualify an elite player.

To expand. If they dotk qualify a player they become a UFA. If the player accepted the qualifying offer then they are no longer an FA

You just have to put a qualifying offer forward in order to retain their rights. All RFAs at this point have been qualified or else they would have become UFAs.
What prevents an offer sheet is player elected arby.
Not that I think there’ll be one or anything.

I brought that up last week. These deals are going to look almost too good a few yrs from now — especially Hutson and Demi because they signed knowing the cap was inflating bigly but:
Hughes acknowledged this on July 1. The players have done him a huge favour by signing these long term deals to chase cups so the pressure is now on him to spend it wisely on elite players who share similar “buy in”. He’s going to be very careful about who he brings in. It’s partly why he was so into Knies. (6x8M contract)
