2nd Rnd '25 Playoffs: Leafs vs Panthers - Flo-Rida them onto the ECF - LFG!

I heard a few months back he's been battling lyme disease.

Hard to say how legit the source is but they are well connected within the hockey world

Worked with a guy who got lyme disease and basically had to shut his life down for a year due to a heart condition it caused. Dude was an amateur triathlete in his early 30's.

If Auston has lyme and just dropped 40/95 paces with it, that's a step down from Mario coming back from cancer to deep dick the league levels of beastliness, but only a single step.

I would've preferred to look just at a round number like "Vs Top-10 Teams" but the Panthers finished 11th and they're obv a contender and I do legit believe that there were 11 contender-caliber teams this year so here's a breakdown of how four teams fared vs the Top-11 / contenders this year:

Lyme disease is pretty cray. Didn’t Avril Lavigne say she thought she was gonna die from it? Let’s hope it’s not that and mainly a wrist issue that an offseason surgery could fix.

while interesting, the reason the lyme disease thing doesn't jibe for me is that the only thing missing from Matthews game is his usual level of shooting.

skating, energy, passing, defence, everything else seems to be fine

Chief was happy with Papi after last night’s game:

“Overall, it was a solid game by everybody, but I think our captain led the way,” Berube said. “I didn’t see him lose too many draws, starts there, and just heavy, physical, working, competing, touched all areas of the game.”

If there was even a whisper in the hockey world of Auston having something like Lyme or HIV, pretty sure Steve Simmons would have irresponsibly reported on it already.
