Montreal would have been much nearer home than Toronto would have been.

Also, being from Nova Scotia, his preferred team, growing up, was probably the Canadiens or the Bruins.

Unless he is a masochist...

Imo Florida should trade verhaege. They’ll miss him but I think they can find a 20 g guy to replace him on the cheap and he’ll net anice return.

When I was younger, over 90% of Nova Scotians were either fans of the Canadiens or fans of the Bruins (45/45 for each team).

Mind you, that was in the 1960s-1970s, so things have probable changed since then.

I still remember the Leafs winning the Cup. I was 17, on the verge of 18...

What I like about Ehlers is that he's always been slick and quick, but if they're going for a DNA change, I highly doubt we target him. He would be fun for the regular season for sure though, and a lock for a good number of points. Between him and Roy (70 + 30), we probably replace Marner's production. But again, don't think we go for him unless he wants that 1 year overpay, which I'd give him.
