Racist fans among our fanbase( they exist unfortunately ) never wanted a damn « Paki » to run their beloved Blue and White anyway.

And indian/sikh/pakistani/tamil/sri lankan/ bangladeshi folks are all over the GTA now, there are no white flight destinations for racists to escape indians or any other visible ethnic minorities anymore. I guess i Will settle for Mike Gillis. He did build a co tender in Vancouver but he already had the building blocks ( Kesler, the sedin twins, Matthias ohlund and Luongo) brian burke and Dave nonis got them before he was hired as GM.

My only hesitation with Gillis is that this is not the situation he had in Vancouver. Ownership here is very, very different. He would not have the Freedom and control here that he had there. Pelley/Rogers will supervise him directly and meddle in his business
