Do the last few years though....

Frovember has been the only thing keeping him from being a ~.905 goalie over the last few years if memory serves

I’d be surprised if the Stars went on another extended run.

I think they’ll be the classic Cinderella team that falls off the face of the earth after making it to the finals and coming up short.

Agreed on Vancouver and Colorado. Both teams are solid, though I don’t think they stack up against the best teams from the East.

Stars are pretty old and have a lot of injuries going into this season still. I don't see them being nearly as good.

Vancouver has a bright future, but will likely take a step back this year.

I think a lot of team that had decent runs (Stars, Vegas, Islanders) will regress. Boston too. Brutal offseason. Pens are basically done imo and will miss the playoffs.

I like Buffalo actually this year to be very good.

If you look through the NHL there is such a lack of real contenders. So many teams that look at to equal. The "Contenders" I hear about are mostly very flawed aside from Tampa.

Tampa may trade Tyler Johnson to Detroit for Zetterberg’s contract

Why though? There's no real benefit to Detroit in unloading Zetterberg's contract.

It expires after this year and Zetterberg's only owed $1M in actual salary. The cap hit is insignificant, both because they could put it on LTIR if they need the space, and because they're nowhere near the cap and aren't likely to be.

Tyler Johnson to Detroit in exchange for Tampa coughing up some nice assets, I can see, assuming Johnson's willing to waive his NTC in order to swap living in Tampa Bay for living in Detroit.

It’s a rumor out of Europe. Heard it from multiple people and apparently Friedman mentioned it tonight. I personally hope no one bails out the Lightning nor should the player waive their NMC. Like why the fuck would you leave Tampa to go to Detroit!?

I'll be annoyed if they get out of this jam without having to sacrifice either a high draft pick or a valuable young player.

And yeah, Johnson shouldn't do them the favour of waiving his NTC. Especially after Tampa tried to do an end-run around it by putting him on waivers earlier in the off-season.

What happens if TBay isn’t capable of getting cap compliant when they start the season .

Surprised Tampa hasn’t done anything really to fix their cap crunch - would think it becomes pricer as they get closer to season starting
