Around the League 2019-2025 Edition

The Leafs are the anti-Canes. They completely clog the middle of the ice and allow teams to take low calorie shots which they block/force the wide by getting in the shooting lanes.

And they just dump pucks in instead of gaining the zone with possession and firing low calorie shots.

Their high danger/inner slot chances for/against are way closer than xG.

He's never forgotten. Edmonton is outscoring their Calvin Pickard problems. Averaging just under 5 goals a game over their last 6.
And as mid as Pickard has been, he hasn't surrendered the back-breaking muffin at a key point in the game that costs his team like with Skinner.

Also, and as bad as his save % looks, it's still better than Aiden Hill's.

Pretty hilarious that the Cup contender Oilers are currently running with a career AHL journeymen who’s also one of our erstwhile 3rd string goalies.

If they'd done this last year they probably would have won the Cup but they kept going back to Skinner. Maybe now they've learned their lesson with that mustachioed pile of hot garbage.

You would think there are more than 5 people who are capable for the job....

From Sportsnet
The Los Angeles Kings are eyeing a veteran to potentially take over their front office.
Former Edmonton Oilers general manager Ken Holland has emerged as a candidate for the same role with the Kings, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Friday's 32 Thoughts Podcast.

"One of the names that is starting to circulate a little bit right now for the Kings is Ken Holland. He was in the mix for the Islanders and I am reserving judgment for where I think the Islanders could be going here," Friedman said. "But I've heard Holland's name with the Kings and if they go external, he may have a shot here."

This will keep happening until teams start staffing their orgs with bright hockey nerds who works outside of the hockey world and developing them into GM prospects. ie Canes hired Tulsky from Biotech, Habs hired BriseBois from a law firm

Dubas was just a young old boy waiting to grow into his bifocals. Spent his entire life in hockey, his education hockey centric and he's never worked a job outside of hockey. Plus, he's from the Soo. His only nerd credentials were that he couldn't play the game and wore glasses.
Dubas is basically the Poilievre of the NHL.
