I think our Leafs are depressed. They looked fucking miserable all season.

Getting Marchand might be a must, to inject some life into that room. I have no doubt that if we got him instead of Laughton, we'd be the ones playing tonight, unless we'd swept them already.
 
Marchand isnt going to magically turn a perennial loser into a Cup champ at the age of 38. It's not like the Panthers were a longshot to make the playoffs. They were the defending champions. So Marchand, as good as he's played, isn't "the reason" the Panthers are in the finals. His addition made an already winning team with a great winning culture better.

He won't do a damn thing for the Leafs and their shitty culture. He'll be a waste of cap space.
 
Marchand is having the dream end of career. Miracle playoff run, probably nearly the last of what the has in him, and one last chance to get a huge pay day in a summer where the cap is about to go up bigly.
