Maccelli's preseason doms projection was a tick positive (+0.5), and his end of season doms were a tick positive (+0.1), and his offensive and defensive doms were both at about the same level, so a perfectly average borderline top-6 forward really. 26yrs old. As a 3rd liner he's a positive value.
Robbie's preseason projection was as a below average 3rd liner (-4.5), and his end of season doms were exactly as bad as projection (-4.6). Robbie's kinda young at 25 and still arguably hasn't been given a legit chance in a proper role, so for me he's still keepable, even though he may never be more than an average 3rd liner.
Domi's preseason projection was also as a below average 3rd liner (-4.4), and his end of season doms were terrible (-8.5) and at the level of a bad 4th liner, so just a bad forward in general. And he's 31, so yeah, he's obviously the one to go.
in terms of the other bottom 6ers last year,
Roy in a 3rd line role was projected as a good 3rd liner at -2.3, but ended up looking like a typical 4th liner at -6.1 in the end, probably because he isn't actually a C.
but 3 of the only leafs to actually perform better than projected was the most used 4th line combo....
Laughton was projected as a typical 4th liner at -6.3, but ended up at more of a broderline 3rd liner -4.0 pace.
Joshua was projected as a typical 4th liner at -6.5, but ended up at more of an solid 3rd liner level at a -3.0 pace.
Lorentz was projected as a bad 4th liner at -9.1, but ended up as an above average 4th liner at -5.5 or so.
there was no preseason projection for Jarnkrok, and he ended pacing for like -12.5 doms, so every bit as unplayable as he looked.
