No this is where I tell you that it’s a process, something the Leafs have lacked for decades. They clung to a talented and expensive core instead of trading one to strengthen depth.
Not making the conference finals, let alone the finals in forever isn’t good. No matter how you try to spin it with false equivalencies.
Utter failures mark leaf land, but that’s something you already know.
Not sure how I’m spinning anything? Is the Cup not the ultimate goal and all that really matters in the end?
And yes the Leafs were victims of bad decisions as well as extremely unfortunate timing with a stagnant cap that nobody saw coming, as has been discussed here many times.
