"One of the top wingers in the league" is a stretch.
He's a fringe top 10 LW.
He plays a nice possession dominant game and is a valuable player, but one of my core issues with all of this is what people are valuing Brady as. Cracked 80 points once, cracked 70 a single additional time in 8 years in the league. 12th in points by a LW over the last 3 seasons combined, 14th in PPG. He also appears to be an immature, somewhat insufferable douchebag (so yeah, a Tkachuk)
0 points in a sweep by Carolina this year. Could you imagine the level of bullshit that would be thrown at Matthews if he put up 0 points in a playoff series? He's in a tier of LW with Raymond, old Ovechkin, Ehler, & Hyman. Ottawa just got a near superstar package of futures for not a near superstar player.

I think considering he had a 1 team trade list and what he actually is Staois hit it out of the park.
The challenge is going to be flipping those assets and getting a different star excited about coming and signing in Ottawa

Kyrou can refuse to waive
Its tough for a quasi competitive budget Canadian team.
Im guessing this is the problem Chciago and maybe San Jose are having in trade talks as well, they probably need to have an Anaheim like season in order to be considered

They might not be able to get Robertson, but it's the right approach. Find the best RFA or pending RFA forward they can that their current team can't or doesn't want to pay and throw everything but that 9th overall to get him and then pay whatever his RFA ask is. Robertson, Fantilli, Dorofeyev, etc.

500+ G and 1000+ pts probably gets him in.
But yeah, never won anything in an 18 season career. No individual awards, no team success, pretty ugly looking career playoff scoring record for a HOF. Made 2nd team All NHL twice, so that's something I suppose.
