Domi + 3rd pick for Anderson

depends on what signing him costs
Not at all concerned - the dude had a huge rep with London Knights as being the penultimate teammate. Even with CBJ after his draft season they told him he needs to improve his skating and pace....he did, after first full season they told him he need to improve his defensive game and became an excellent PK. He’ll sign for 3-4 years. Great great deal - and I suspect outstanding complement on RW to Suzuki & Drouin

Now go get Laine or Boeser & onwards and forwards.

Ironic - Domi & Anderson were teammates with London Knights and share the same agent. I wonder if the new agent (Ferris) helped get the deal brokered.

Yeah I don't think MB is done either. If he gets Laine it'll make people forget he fucked up the chance at Lafreniere.
Depends on WTF he gives up

I'm suprised that we included a 3rd round pick. I'd expected Columbu to have to add to Anderson. I guess there is a higher cost for big top 6 player right now and with the perspective that Anderson will sign at a lower AAV, this is partially a salary shed trade.

Anderson on paper is exactly what we need. Just wondering if his health will be better. it worries me.

I know everyone loves their "hurr-durr" and knuckle dragging comments. But this kid can PLAY. It is RARE that someone this big can play in your top 6 and contribute. So yeah... there is a premium to be paid for a rare commodity. Supply and demand.

I would rather not have given up the 3rd, but in a year where the Habs have 100 picks and a hole on the right side and a lack of size up front... it makes sense to me.

forgive my ignorance, but is there actual evidence of Anderson a) holding down a top-6 role with CBJ, and b) succeeding in that role?

pretty sure this guy has been a healthy scratch recently, and a mainstay in the bottom six last year.

It's also obvious neither club views Domi as a center. Centers are worth more than wingers. I'm still baffled why he had to throw in a third.

A healthy Anderson will help the Habs no doubt. They need size up front. I'm not upset Domi got traded, his time was done, I'm just curious as to why the third. Seems pointless.

A version of this trade had been making the rounds for a while, including LeBrun yesterday
