GDT 7: Leafs @ Canes, 7 pm, SN - Fuck you Jobu...

Fred under big pressure for this game -- sieve a comin'.

But then again, the Leafs are under big pressure. First game against their former goalie, coming off a humiliating loss and with all the big-money guys off to horrid offensive starts.

It’ll be a titanic contest of wills between the moveable object and the stoppable force.

Holl's fall is nothing compared to Muzzin going straight off a fucking cliff this year.

I often exaggerate my points when I'm upset, but I'm saying this with all seriousness - he's been absolutely unplayable so far. A big, slow, clumsy lug who doesn't know where to go and what to do. Chicken with its head sliced off by a skate.
eh Muzz needs time to warm up his creaky old joints. I'll be worried if he's still playing like this come December.

Holl though... yeah... becoming a concerning trend

I shop exclusively at the normal arms store.

Oh, I see what I did there now. Truthfully, I've never given a shit, so why would I buy a shit?

Yeah, sorry, if I had to put money on this one, I see the Leafs filling up the net.

I certainly hope so.

One of my friends who’s been a tireless defender of Fred for the past few years is already starting to beak off about his “hot start” now that Fred’s “healthy” and “doesn’t have to play behind our defense anymore”.

Would definitely like to see Fred’s numbers start crashing back to earth starting tonight.

I'm way more concerned about Muzzin than Holl. Way, way more.

He looks finished as a player. That's how bad I see him out there right now.

I will say, so far the predictions that Muzzin is finished have aged poorly. I feel like multiple people bust that out at the beginning of every season. Could be right this time but I'm willing to give it time.

Tavares starts basically every season like donkey turd and you don't care, give Muzz the same rope!
That's the thing, I don't see Tavares starting bad other years or even this year frankly. I don't see him as all that bad. He's ok, not great. Like I've said a few times, he could easily easily have 5+ goals right now. He's had some great chances, but zero luck.

Muzzin doesn't even know where the puck is half the time anymore.

hell even I have learned my lesson from my early season Tavares obituaries.

now, don't confuse this nuance with me thinking his contract was ever a good one. but the extent to which I feared he had declined was overstated cause he sucks at early season hockey.

Muzz is old and creaky, needs time to get up to speed.

hell, I am similar in age to some of the buds elder statesmen and even in the past five years alone my climbing warmups have really ballooned and it takes me longer to get going. and I imagine I have a lot less mileage on my body than Muzz...

Where have I been that I've missed that? I remember not liking Muzzin when he first got here at the deadline, but felt better about him later, and thought he was pretty good last year and worth the pick up. But holy shit this first handful of games, he looks like an 8th dman.

tiny sample size, relax. you need to at least give Muzz the opportunity for redemption

Oh, he's got all season. But as I watch him skating in sand, falling over himself, losing the puck and his player, and even directing the puck into his own net masterfully with no kicking motion, I'm gonna complain my ass off about it.

Mainly because I was arguing that we should've traded him in the offseason. When I see this going on, it makes me think we're gonna be stuck with an unplayable oaf for another two years. Hope he rights the ship.
