McBackup should have gotten the start tonight. I get that Andy is our starter, but playing him like he's a 65+ game stud when we're just not getting that level of performance from him over the last 6 weeks, is hurting us more than anything else right now. If McBackup can get hot and give him some extra rest, that could be big for both getting us into the playoffs and having Froskala well rested for hopefully getting more than a single round deep.

Yeah, I honestly don't care. We have Auston Matthews. I prefer having Auston Matthews. Laine is awesome, but we have Auston Matthews. For a long time the hockey media put Ovy against Crosby and for a bunch of those years seemed pro Ovy. I'll take the deadly 2 way centre every time thanks.

I think that's how this will end up. Both fantactic players. Laine might win the Calder and might have the odd year where he's "better" but overall Matthews will be the better player.
