Golf Thread

Don't use the f word. I'm going to ruin your life now because that's how we deal with things in 2019.

I'm self employed and my favourite people all know that I'm a jackass. I'm in the rare and enviable position of being able to say whatever the **** I want to whoever and have no real consequences.

So stop being a whiny gay about this shit.

If tiger were accused of assault or harassment it would be something else entirely.

As it is, everybody knows she's a hot gold digger who knew what she was signing up for.

Nobody would be angry at louis ck if he had cheated on his wife.

Lazy comparison IMO. An athlete’s value comes down to their talent/skill/accomplishments. People can clearly compartmentalize the athlete from the human being. Louis CK does not have that benefit. If he could hit .300 with 40hrs, a ton of people would buy tix to cheer him on.

So yeah, meh. Did you hear the Paul Manafort shit that came public? Nobody cared.

And rightfully so. I just don't see how playing with your own penis or Aziz's awkward ass thing is any worse than being a serial cheater. I'd argue that cheating is far worse on your character than masturbating. I personally don't care about either thing. Just leave the ****ing people alone. But the double standard is fascinating to me.

I'm going to light Mexico on fire.

i mean if we are going to start comparing infidelity with sexual misconduct we might as well just cancel this whole pro sports thing. such a weird hill to die on

you are equating infidelity to be on the same level as sexual misconduct... you must not pay much attention if you don't think a huge percentage of these guys aren't getting some side action in every city the go to. so if one is as bad as the other then you might as well just shut all these leagues down. or you could just stop being a melodramatic ****

And rightfully so.

Eh? It's ****ing abusive.

I just don't see how playing with your own penis or Aziz's awkward ass thing is any worse than being a serial cheater.

First issue I take is equating Aziz being awkward with Louis legitimately whipping his cock out on a co worker. This isn't the same shit.

I'd argue that cheating is far worse on your character than masturbating.

Listen man. I love Louis stand up, I'm a fan. I also think he got wrapped up unfairly in the metoo era stuff. With that said, what he did was completely improper and bordering on sexual assault. Your moral compass is out of alignment on this one.

But the double standard is fascinating to me.

I think this says more about you that society man. You're looking for double standard where there isn't one.

Wait when did I say what Louis and Aziz did was sexual misconduct? I missed that part.

I think I get it now. Tiger has Michael Jackson type loyal fans. People still defend that pervert so of course they'll defend Tiger too.

But yeah, Louie was wrong. But I whip my cock out to my neighbours every day. Nothing like walking around fully nude. It's not a big deal. It's a penis. And I happen to have a really nice one so they should be thanking me.

go lock yourself in a female coworkers office. lock the door, whip your cock out and start masturbating and let us know how that works out for you.

you cheat on your wife the worst thats going to happen to you is you lose half your shit.

the difference between the two shouldn't need to be explained

Actually, the conversation is very much about that. You just refuse to accept that what Louis did was in fact "sexual misconduct".

Eh. Barely. It's a penis, let's take it down a notch. You won't see me defending a rapist or anyone that puts hands on a woman but let's calm down a bit here. We're all adults.

2 things. 1) the joke sucked, it was unfunny and stupid. That was it's worst crime. You can get away with insensitive (which the joke was, it was about the school shooting survivors in Florida), but you can't be insensitive and unfunny. 2) Despite that, the comedy community has welcomed him back with open arms. Rogan had a couple of the old school comedy club owner/promoters on his podcast a couple of weeks ago and they were clear that he's not blackballed, and has been welcomed back into every comedy club of note in the country.

Different time in society man. Metoo was basically a hysteria, Louis got caught up in it

A few things:

Louis was workshopping his material. It was a first draft, so a lot of that stuff was never going to make the final cut that mass audiences would experience. But all you need is one smartphone, and you have an exclusive comedy podcast.

The joke about school shootings has potential. Personally, I find it interesting that surviving a tragedy automatically gives you outsized political leverage. We saw that with the Family of Victims of 9/11. There’s a joke in there somewhere. Louis could have found one. After all, he’s the guy who made a pedo joke on SNL that was widely acclaimed.

He has been blackballed. Not by comedy club owners, but by the bigger and more lucrative comedy verticals. Though I expect that will change.

MeToo is more than just a passing hysteria. I think it’s part of an evolution in gender politics that’s frankly overdue. But yeah, there will be overreach and certain unlucky bastards might pay a disproportionate price for all those who got off scott free.

He asked co workers (that he had some power over) to watch him jerk off.

This is different than someone seeing your wang while looking in your kitching window.

He asked co workers (that he had some power over) to watch him jerk off.

That part is a little unclear. The incidents happened before he made it BIG. Before his Emmy winning Louie series and the sold out concert halls.

Agreed on all fronts here. The joke was bad, but yes he was working on his material

Sure, but Louis was the first guy to make the end run around them in the past anyway. Go back to selling your special off of your website. **** the man. They'll come back when they smell money.

and that's more or less what happened to Louis.

One of the girls was a low level staff member at the Chris Rock show when he was a writer, another was a comedian who got her first producer gig on a TV pilot. They were people who felt like they have something to lose by coming forward.
