Hey Nerds: Blockchain

Your asking government to fix an issue they fukced up in the first place .....good one Zeke

They are decimating the economy , what is going to bounce back when 50 million North Americans are out of work

Small business in the service sectors are going to be wiped out , they employ millions

Many of those jobs arent coming back

In the previous meltdowns , it was not global sector by sector complete destruction

If you lost your job in the dotcom days you drowned your sorrow at the local bar , went to the gym , took a trip and got laid in Cuba , went to the movies , etc..... thats wiped out now Zeke

When do you think anyone is going to watch a 50,000 attended concert again

New York is a major global business/entertainment hub

Times Squares plus all the major attractions such as Casinos etc in other States , they got crucified

This will trickle down to many other facets of the economy
Do you watch CNBC?

TRUL dipped to 14.02. Now at $16. What a dip buying opportunity that was. The fear was too much for me to dive in but I'm feeling regrets. I should know better.

you let fuckface get in yer head

Fair point. Apologies for calling you a doomsdayer. Sincerely.

also keep in mind, the idea that the "economy is not the market" works both ways. There have been eras where the economy has been good for main street, but the markets were flat.

Gotta say pot is holding up pretty well -- feels like all the retail schmoes have moved on, and institutions are choosing the winners in what will be a secular bull market in the latest vice to hit the mainstream.

Yup of course. My argument is that both will be fine. We'll just need to be open-minded in regards to timeframes on each. I don't disagree that it may take a bit but let's relax to the doomsday shit that I hear every bear market. There just isn't a great case for things never recovering and comparing things to Japan in the 80's/90's.

It's the US names. Canadian names have gotten wrecked for weeks. But.. Word of caution. This happens every MSO earning season. The fade is fierce shortly after in most cases. As always, this happens every time until it doesn't.

GTII has room to blast off especially if SPY decides to show some green today and again tomorrow. Again, they should be profitable or close to it. That's a significant shift though it's getting quite close to being priced in.

When do think the service sectors and full concerts , sports , movies, Casinos, plays , etc will be functional 100% pre COVID ?

Your missing the point ........ these were your escape venues you went to recoup , refresh your mind

They were never affected in any downturn . Maybe venues were less packed but not locked down for 3 months

Plus these sectors were dominated by the millennial workers who didnt give a shit about dropping $200 on a pair of jeans or have 50,000 drunk clubbers in downtown Toronto

I know people who are event planners for kiddie functions , corporate events , catering , parties etc...

They told me they are wiped out for 2020 and business will probably be 50% less in 2021

How many will survive including those thousands of restaurants downtown

1. ensuring that small businesses like these don't go out of business should be the primary focus of governments
2. if they do all go out of business, I am going to open one and make a killing.
