Hey Nerds: Blockchain

I know, not comparing the two stocks, just the two situations. I ditched Shopify because I bought into the chatter. I stuck with Fitbit because I was unjustifiably optimistic. This is one of those turning points. If Slack kills it on its next report, it won't be the first time things went totally counter to appearances, and say it does triple, I'll be tres triste over it just like Shop. And if it bombs as one might reasonably expect if we buy into the perception created by a couple of these stories, like Fitbit did, I'll feel so dumb for letting the same situation fool me twice. This is a very tough one for me.

I'm quite familiar with them actually. Why are you expecting them to fall?

I'm spotting relative weakness recently. *chart

fundamentally, they are very tied in to people returning to work at the office (services/supplies, carpet, tile cleaning, etc) and they are pretty richly valued -- 36x forward earnings.

it's not a tech stock so why should it be valued more than it was pre-covid?

I have a client that competes with them. I actually have done a few deals with them (not in the last few years though). They're a monster, though often tended to get bloated and then had to sell off contracts to guys like my client. But I haven't been thinking about that space at all. A good bellweather is how my client is faring, and I am due to call them about something from a couple of weeks ago. I'll inquire.
