Hey Nerds: Blockchain

I never buy pot stocks on their first day of trading but I nibbled on some SPR -- Sproutly. Their water soluble THC has me intrigued.

Yeah, I'll be watching them. I've been reading that water soluble tech isn't exactly new and that this is marketing more than anything else, but we'll see.

Downside of the MJ industry. Lifelong bans from the USA

Canadians working in the cannabis industry are starting to run into big problems at the border, according to an immigration lawyer.

Len Saunders is an immigration lawyer based in Blaine, Washington, a busy port of entry for British Columbians headed to the U.S. He says some of his clients are being denied entry — some have even received lifetime bans — for their business associations with marijuana.

Cannabis and the border: what pot-smoking Canadians need to know
"I'm getting calls almost daily from individuals in the marijuana industry in Canada who are concerned about either themselves or their employees entering the United States for business," Saunders said.

Despite the fact marijuana is legal in Washington state, and will soon be legal in Canada, the border between the two places is still federal jurisdiction patrolled by federal border guards.

Saunders says his clients are being told by U.S. border guards that even a loose association — like being an angel investor — could land them a lifetime ban from the United States.

"They're being told that they're barred, either based upon reason to believe that they're involved with the drug-trafficking industry — which is marijuana — or based upon living off the avails of drug money, because they're getting paid by their Canadian companies."
No trips to the USA planned ME?

Yeah, I did cancel my year NY trip already, going to Halifax instead.

Nothing to do with weed, but I saw that article and thought of you.

I don't really have much to be concerned of. I don't work in the industry and would lie my face off at border security if I was ever questioned about my investment involvement or even if I've ever smoked before.

But still, just another layer of American stupidity that helps me choose to spend my money elsewhere.

My plan is just say no at the border. I've already deleted text messages containing the word weed or pot.

Not that it means anything but my folks have gone to Florida twice a year for 30 years. The politics are to the point that they just lost interest. Also they're itching to get into legal edibles.

Anecdotal, but with the number of similar stories coming out, it's going to have some sort of effect sooner rather than later.

Canadians are making fewer trips to the United States, and foreign appetite for travel in Canada has hit its highest May on record.

Statistics Canada reported Thursday that Canadians made 3.2 million trips to the United States in May, down almost eight per cent from April's level and nearly six per cent lower than the same month a year ago.

Car trips to the U.S. were sharply lower, down to 2.5 million during the month, which is the lowest figure seen for that month since 2003.

Yup.

What happened to pot stocks today? Massive plunge below important trendlines across the board.

The best explanation I've seen regarding Canadian stuff is that about 55% of profitability, depending on which province you're in, has been snatched by various levels of government and the reality of this is just starting to set in.

Thanks man. CRZ and IAN have no biz in Canada but still got clocked. I will pay close attention the rest of the week as trend lines are being violated

Zucks down a cool $16 billion today. That's gotta sting a bit. I'm sure his other $60 billion will comfort him slightly, but still.

Ya, Facebook isn't going to grow anymore. Its now just for over 30s to share pictures of their kids.

Aka, no longer cool

CH and Mindz, I know you guys have spoke at length on the sector here but care to share your current favourite U.S. MJ picks for some due diligence?
