Hey Nerds: Blockchain

bulls need to mount a little comeback before margin clerks starting making their calls at 2:30

Still looks weak. Extremely interested in what comes next. How far do we go? Chart has a lottttttttt of room. Big gap to fill. But consolidation can be brief too.

This is pretty fascinating/scary

Insanity in Options
The convexity skew picture on big-name equities like Apple $AAPL has gone parabolically stupid. Let’s keep this simple and draw a conclusion.

Apple $AAPL Stock near $130

Jan $180 Strike Calls costs $4
Jan $80 Strike Puts costs $1

*Both options are $50 out of the money, approx data, BUT it is nearly 3x more expensive to buy upside risk in AAPL equity. Downside protection normally costs more than upside risk participation, NOT today. What does this mean?

WARNING WAS SENT. You see this type of option skew every 5 yrs or so.

It's crazy that 4th liner CBII is carrying my cannabis team while Matthews, Tavares, Marner and Willy stumble all over the ice.

In retrospect, this was a also an ominous sign.

This is why the stock splits of behemoths are so dangerous. Apple is down $10, but the equivalent of $40 pre-split, which pretty much never happened.

Guess they're about to make some more acquisitions.

Finally catching my breath and have time to read this release -- pretty solid news.

Merida is getting in at 15c/share. Forum Ice Capital bought a bunch at 9-10c

The idea is it provides a floor at 15c. I used to be that naive and optimistic. Unfortunately it doesn't really work that way.

Ultimately time will tell on that one. They traded Andersen for just cap space. Now it's about how they spend that cash. Key moments for them and their future. Need to grow now that they got their costs in order.

Of course, there is no floor with a penny play but CBII is asking for a 50% premium compared to what it was trading at a few weeks ago. And Merida is good for 2 of the 3M requested.

Yup it's a nice sign. We're the smart money that did most of our buying from 9-11c. That's all that matters.

Soccer mom thinks this tanks another 15-25% from here.

anything is possible in this crazy market. There are a number of ways the parabolic rise in tech can be addressed — a swift two day wonder or months of congestion.

Yeah I've seen him compare the chart to the Jan. 2018 correction. Which is fine. It's good to have a thesis. History could easily repeat itself. But where GUSH mom goes wrong is that he doesn't adapt when it doesn't play out.

yeah...I learned not to go all in on my predictions. Yesterday was one of the best days ever in my trading account, and all it took was a smattering of SPY puts. My RRSP got solid protection from long dated QQQ puts and UVXY calls.

Yup. If you go too balls deep in your thesis like GUSH mom does, you can be underwater real quick. He kept averaging down and down on his short. And was absolutely decimated. Until yesterday. He could have just played bullish up until yesterday and gone short within the first hour or two of trading and he would have crushed it way more than being as early as he was. And now he's committed to another 15-25%. But what's his exit strategy? What if something happens that doesn't support the "history will repeat itself" narrative (which btw, I hate when fintwit uses historic events to prove that something will happen again).

Anyway I've been under the belief for awhile that 3000 on SPX is a very real possibility at some point so his thesis may absolutely play out. But the guy drives me nuts. I want to shake him. His narcissism gets the best of him. He thinks he can't possibly be wrong.
