I'm struggling with it too. In part due to reasons that have nothing to do with it. When I first started getting deeper into investing, I made one very bad gamble on a company somewhat similarly situated. I bought Fitbit and was quite confident in it becoming a player and eventually getting bought out by Apple or Nike or some big acquirer like them. Not too long after I bought it, and dug myself in even further with additional purchases (at which point I had a nice little profit going), Apple introduced its watch and that was the end of the road for Fitbit. Crushed by a giant.
I see parallels in this Slack/Microsoft match up, though it's different because the competitive products are already out there, and I'm not waiting for a big boy to come out with something new. So I'm nervous from that vantage point, and that EU filing sort of makes me wonder if it's anything more than a desperate move that should be frowned on (I'm guessing the rest of the market is feeling the same way, hence it falling below $30).
But I also see it as something that can pop to $100 within a couple of months after a super strong quarter. So I'm hesitant to cut bait and sort of just sitting back trying to figure it out.
