Hey Nerds: Blockchain

Yup, posted that yesterday. That line in particular caught my eye. Seems a bit aggressive but in any event a re-rating is guaranteed if it happens. They've been pushing the 15-20x thing since early January. Math kind of makes sense but there are a lot of uncertainties that I expect to be priced in as well.

I love when people call it a generational opportunity because it seems so hyperbolic but it's just about the closest thing to generational as it gets. Next to Bitcoin and $GME of course. I particularly love that they're still secrets to the vast majority of folks. Just a small niche group wise to what's going on and unafraid of the big bad OTC.

I saw that post, but missed that 20x part.

most of the time, in markets what is obvious is obviously wrong...but I can’t find a bear 🐻 case vs cannabis. (Unless they legalise too fast)

This is definitely the only sector I've seen that obvious = actually obvious. There are certain events that could happen through legalization that would be bearish. But all of them would be completely uncharacteristic of the US and how they do things and how they've done things up to this point.

So for that reason, I'm in.

who knew when agreeing to the rules of shorting stocks that a company would need to abide by the rules of shorting stocks?

getting crushed by leverage is one of the oldest stories in financials markets

If Melvin truly limited their losses to 50%, they are still in the game, and can get back to even for the year.

I think i read somewhere they lost over $2 billion, and would have gone under but were bailed out by other hedge fund companies.

Well Melvin is hoarding cash. Believe they're about 10% cash. So we'll see what they do with the dry powder.
