HHN/ESPN/TNT ... broadcasting access, tips and notes

Good for the big picture. The more "free" games they can get out across the state, the better for capturing audience. People are interested following the Cup win and surrounding hoopla, so the more chances you can give them to stumble into watching a game without having to subscribe to a service they don't already have goes directly to increased engagement. Winning matters though. The Canes badly fumbled the post-2006 surge in interest by sucking.

I still say the Canes should play one game in Greensboro and one in Charlotte every season. Greensboro to thank them for being our home back in the day and Charlotte to appeal more to that part of the state and SC.

Pre season, sure ... but Dundon is in the process of tweaking the arena in Raleigh to max out per game revenue. You don't spend that money without leveraging it as much as possible.

Pre season though, have at it. Especially if we're going to stick with two home games per camp. Do one in Greensboro and one in Charlotte and let your STHers off the hook for paying for practice games.

Never going to happen for a regular season game. Gale Force runs the Lenovo Center, so Dundon is essentially paying himself. He’s not going to give up the gate for 2 games to pay the landlords.

Fewer issues and glitches than expected. I was pleased with the broadcast. Seems to me that opening night in the arena was a bigger issue!

Not a fan of Hanna and Shane back in the concourse for pre-game.

Too many idiots in the background causing a distraction and drowning out the discussion.
Honestly, right now there's just no freaking room for them ... physically. They are making a pretty significant bottleneck even worse. Find somewhere else for that thing. Anywhere else, really. The parking lot maybe.

The Flyers game was my first experience with the new broadcast on Prime and I thought it was pretty good. And since my internet was out and I was streaming on my iPad using my phone for a hotspot, local conditions were hardly ideal. Decent start for the crew.
