A hunt they eventually lost. Hutson got his team into the playoffs. This should be a no-brainer, and would be, if Hutson played for any other team.

Sure. I have no problem with that, but if Wolf wins it's bullshit. The "race" for the Calder ended a long time ago. Hutson just left everyone else in the dust sometime in March.
That's amazing.
50 games for a rookie goalie is pretty damn good. He definitely had a Calder caliber season. He just had the misfortune of being up against a guy who had a top 3 rookie season for a dman, ever.
When Brodeur won the Calder, he played 47 games.
