Hutson named Calder finalist

I don't subscribe to this logic when the Flames could feast on a weaker conference. I've no doubt they're would not have gotten 96 points in the East.
I get it. I'm just saying both had an impact on their team performance and moved the needle. Whether one made the playoffs vs the other is also influenced by a lot of factors outside of their control. If the Flames made the playoffs, would it really change your opinion on who should win the Calder? It wouldn't for me.

In order for a Habs player to win an award that is judged subjectively, everything about him, especially his stats, must be unimpeachable if he is to have any shot at winning. Otherwise they'll find a way to screw us.

I don't recall any big controversy for a Habs in the Calder race. Ryder finished second to Raycroft but Raycroft had a spectacular season.
My point was very few Habs in general get nominated or win awards since our cups

Price , Theo , Roy , PK among the few over 30 years

My point was mostly in regards of Habs players having to be perfect to be selected, I haven't found any evidence of such.

And I'm sorry to do this to you but Roy was more than 30 years ago! :D
