Who was Gleason paired with for the most part in Carolina?

I want to say McBain, but I'm not 100 percent on that.

Wouldnt it benefit Gleason then to be paired with one of the Leafs elite skaters like Reilly or Gardiner?

Dion will probably stay with Gunnar so Gleason-Franson, Gardiner-Rielly OR Gardiner-Franson, Gleason-Rielly?

I'd still love to see Dion with a more offensive minded guy but that's just me.

Most if not all those options are better than Ron Hainsey and Jay Harrison.

Franson has been so bad defensively, the last thing I'd want to see right now is his ES TOI increased.

The more i read up on Gleason, the more i like the trade.

Decent fit to the team, would be even better if he was a righty. Though i find the Lefty-righty thing not to be as big a deal as some.

Hopefully he is what we had hoped Komisarek was going to be when we got him.

I mean when McBain wasn't in Buffalo. 2010-11 and 2011-12 when he was still a promising young defenceman getting good minutes.

The only really good thing about this trade is that it likely means Fraser is waived soon enough.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Ranger beat out Gleason fair and square. Ranger seems to have cut down on the brainfarts since Randy gave him that public ego boost in that press conference a week or two ago. And without the brainfarts, Ranger is very good.

I love how sportsnet only showed that cross check to the head, yet edit out Eaves elbow right before.

Since he's both a Toronto Maple Leaf and a "repeat offender" in the eyes of the NHL, he'll get at least 2, and possibly as much as four.
