Leafs/Habs/Sens 2014-15

re-reviewed the post. Fair enough. Thanks for telling us the teams you "care" about. Not sure what you want me to say? It's hard to believe you view a loss to the sens as equal to one vs Florida or say columbus. I just don't buy it.
I was talking about my post explaining why I don't spend hours trying to convince you that the Sens suck. From earlier today.

I didn't expect you to say anything about the teams I "care" about. Just thought your reply was really douchey.

Why would I care more about a loss to the Sens than Florida? Unless we were fighting one of them for playoff positioning or something.

because despite your arguing the opposite, the sens are a rival team.

They may or may not be a rival of the Habs but they just aren't a team that has any really history with the Habs. They've met what... once (?) In the playoffs.

That's not a shot at the Sens... it's just a matter of history.

Rangers knocked us out of the semi finals last year... and I don't feel any rivalry with them.

Didn't say we are rivals...your team is too much the Sens Bitches to be real rivals. A good portion of your fan base is obsessed with the Sens.. http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=1855489&page=9

You quote an HF poll with 65 responses, saying we would most likely rather face one of 3 teams who are sucking donkey balls than the hottest team in the league as proof of anything?

The only reason I don't like losing to the Sens are the handful of Sens fans here who raise a banner when they beat us. If not for that, and that you still seem to care about a playoff series from a few years ago, I would be equally as disappointed about losing to anyone who we could play in the first round.

In a perfect world, you guys face off against TB round one, continue to rise the emotional hot streak through that series win, but crumble down to earth against us in round 2. I think that would be the Habs easiest path to a cup.

"YOU DEFINITELY CARE ABOUT MY TEAM!!"
"No, we really don't."
"YES YOU DO WE'RE RIVALS!!1"

This might be the most pathetic argument in the history of FI.

Read the thread. Plenty of Sens hate and angst about losing to the Sens due to the fan rivalry and previous series loss. To be clear, fans of all teams vary as to which teams they consider rivals and to what degree.

The evidence on this board is clear through hundreds of pages, the Leafs and Habs have no real rivalry whatsoever, only the memory of one that sparks a little from time to time but could become reality again if the Leafs ever stop being a laughingstock.

To the members of this board, the Sens are a bigger rival for either team based on the animosity displayed in thousands of posts.

don't mistake our disdain for you as a poster with having a vested interest in the results of baby bro

The ironic thing is if you weren't such an asshat (sensi, to be clear), I don't think a lot of posters would have a hard time praising the Sens for their run this season.

Well, if the sens do finally drop from the race this weekend, we won't have to hear from him again until next fall, so there is always that.

This might be the most pathetic argument in the history of FI.

I had this argument with a Canucks fan in a sports apparel shop in Upper Canada Mall once. He refused to believe that the Leafs and Canucks are not rivals. We play them, what, twice a year? If that.

True story.

One could argue convincingly that the deceased Quebec Nordiques are still a bigger rival to the Habs than Ottawa, for what it's worth. The Sens and Habs just aren't big rivals despite what Sens fans may believe. A rivalry has to be two-sided.

Well this thread sure makes it sound like they are rivals. Personally, as an uninterested party I'd love to see a Habs/Sens first round series.
