Leafs' Prospect/Marlies Discussion Thread!

I'd take him as the 6/7 if he's good enough to hang in limited sheltered action. Sick of kids not getting any burn in favor of Tyler Myers and Chris Benoit. If other teams don't give them a chance either, it doesn't mean they're right about that.

We need 1-2 good top of the roster guys who can push Rielly & OEL down the depth chart a bit. I'm entirely good with leaving the 6/7 open for the corpse of Tanev and kids though.

Hard agree 100% though that I don't want to see any fucking Myers or Benoit veteran bums in front of the kids this year though. Villeneuve needs a chance, Chadwick is close to needing a chance, etc.

Yeah I mean I just want the best kid to get a job. If it's not danford then that fine too. And I have no issue with them not playing a full season either. Ease them in as needed. You can even rotate them from time to time if they're all looking relatively equal. This obsession with filling the bottom of the roster with zero upside guys has to stop. That's not how your organization improves and gets value out of the farm.

I'm all-in on Sham Langford and hope he can make the team next year. Would be if he's a 6/7. Give him like 40-50 games to wet his feet.

Not that I'm super-stoked about any of our prospects after the top couple of guys, but even so---yeah, can we at least give these kids a real chance before before shuffling them out of the organization on the waiver wire or not tendering them a qualifying offer?

Just makes no sense refusing to do that for the sake of veteran bums. We can fit in 73 games for Benoit, 39 games for Myers and 11 games for Dakota Mermis, but only three for Villeneuve and none for Chadwick?
