Les Habitants Prospects Thread

Yeah...very puzzled, and i'm sure most don't have a good feeling about this going forward.

What's weird is that Habs media have been feeding us this Hage propaganda all season (a lot has come from media used by Habs management to push their agenda in public....we kinda know who they are)....

So this is a slap in the face for management, but Brisson-Hughes will sort things out, maybe Hage wants to dictate where he's traded (if Leafs rumours are true) and this is his only way of getting leverage
Everyone here knows what’s going to happen, Hage will be promised a 2C role to start next season & he’ll sign ELC…

Really? There is a better option than signing a contract to play for your childhood team?
Yes … make $ix figure NIL w luxury NCAA lifestyle vs five figure AHL ghetto life….. unless of course someone guarantees the $ix figure ultra luxury NHL lifestyle

So if you sign a 3 yr ELC, you only make the NHL minimum if you’re on the NHL roster?
He obviously wasn’t staying on NHL roster & wasn’t going to see playing time in playoffs … that’s the crux of the issue

I also think Pacioretty who knows a thing or two about being a 1st round pick / high valued Habs prospect (drafted at almost identical spot) has shared w Hage how he was rushed before being ready

Now you’re reaching — completely different Habs front office featuring a player friendly GM and coach

I don't think it's MSL's modus operandi to promise newbies a guaranteed spot at one of the most crucial positions on this team (2C)

Won't sit well with Hage's new teammates...and how can you guarantee him the spot, what if he struggles and needs AHL time, does it mean they will keep playing him because they have a ''deal'' in place where he doesn't see AHL ?

This isn't like Demidov, who's a winger (less responsibilities)......he came in and produced and earned his icetime/PP.

Hence, you’ve just answered your own question as to why Hage is going back for 1-more year …. to put himself / his game into a position to assume C spot for next years playoffs …

Apparently the reasoning is this:

1) Wants to get stronger/bulk up.
2) Wants to be the “man” at C. Face-offs, PK, etc. Be a complete player.

Figures it’s easier to get there with 40 game schedule plus top class facilities.

Unstated:
- Michigan campus life with NIL
- Avoids AHL meathead grind and long bus rides
Unstated:
They offered me in trades? F 'em.

So he's going to get parachuted into the 2C at game 81 or 82 . . . and we just wait around for him 'till then? I don't see HuGo doing that. At all.

The whole trade thing is also speculation and making that sort of decision on speculation is malpractice.

ya....that's not going to happen with 2 games left in the year
