Les Habitants Prospects Thread

Regardless of what you think of Houle, whether positive or negative, next year's the key year.

The length of our rebuild will correlate directly with that crop of prospects.

Slaf maybe, Kidney, Roy, Mailloux, Struble, Dobles, Heinemen, Farrell, Trudeau, Mesar maybe, Davidson, are probably going to start the year in the AHL and we at least need 3-4 of them to be NHL regulars by the end their ELCs end. This is where the real work starts. If we don't get enough NHL bodies from those guys, this rebuild is just going to continue, and continue, and continue, and...
and fucken continue ...... absolutely need 3 from that list to hit and be quality secondary support pieces

Slaf and Logan to be key core pieces

Ok RHP is 24 but don't even try to give Houle credit for a guy that's been busting his ass through every shit league to get here. RHP has that drive that you wish more skilled players had.
What shit league? He was drafted out of the Q and went straight to Laval for 3 years (2 under Houle) before graduating. I’m mostly impressed that he managed to make Barron play a pro game.

Must be thinking of someone else. Thought he went to echl. Drafted 7th round. His numbers are consistent though so don't see the Houle effect you're talking about.

Richard maybe? He’s been been in the minors forever with a short stint in the ECHL. He’s also 26 so that match your initial impression.
And I said RHP was the exception as he had his best AHL year last year (still under Houle).

Also, I’m sure Adam Nicholas deserves some of the credit in player development.

They are only playing due to a decimated lineup

RHP is getting top big 6 minutes and PP time with a crazy shooting % , not happening next year

Good for him to earn NHL money , but this is Pitlick 2.0 .

Nah, Pitlick isn’t useful if not in an offensive role. RHP can do everything. Plus have you seen our current wingers for next season? He’s going to have a spot on our top 9 with some PP. Agreed about the shooting % though.

We will still suck next season so I expect RHP to have an NHL job. But in 2-3 years if/when we become elite? Probably not.

He's a 20+ scorer in this league. He's going to carve out a decent career. Whether with us or not isn't the question, the talent is there and the drive nudges him above all the Pitlicks.

I like Harvey-Pinard as well and I think he can carve himself a nice career as a third/fourth line winger who can occasionally score.

I don't expect him to come close to 20 very often, though.

He gets in the dirty areas a lot and has decent offensive skills. I can see it if given the opportunity. If he plays with plumbers then no.
