Les Habitants Prospects Thread

Not quite sure I get the original Mysak hype. He had a good first training camp with us, and couple of good international appearances but his junior numbers are underwhelming while his AHL numbers are straight up terrible.

His track is eerily similar to Plekanec. He even plays like Plekanec. I think that's why. Deja-vu almost.

Not expecting anything great from him but I do see a utility guy there with some speed. It's the speed that may keep him up.

He is already quickly passed by with this next wave of prospects

How soon we forget Plekanec took 3-full AHL seasons to develop and only cracked Habs lineup @ 23. Plekanec didn’t exactly set the AHL on fire, but showed steady growth.

Mysak turns 21 at end of June…
Thought everybody hated pleks?

Definitely but I'm also not worried about those roles. We will have a ton of prospects for those roles. And some of the higher upside guys will fall into that space as well.

Habs need at least 3 to be solid bottom 6 players

Enough of poaching other teams support staff , lets develop our own

I don’t really care about developing bottom 6 players, those guys are always available.
Why not build a good stable base of cheap middle 6 players

A joke how we have to poach other teams slugs

It’s better to have that ready made player than throw dumb money at Alzner , Savard, etc...

Plus you can move them at the deadline for other assets if required

I dunno, its crazy how some become super upset when we trade away a second round pick.

Draft picks shouldn’t be given away
But most NHL prospects are overvalued the second they’re drafted. It’s like falling in love after swiping right on a dating app. Remember the 87 page thread when we traded Danny Kristo?

Wow did you just switched from bottom 6 to middle 6 mid argument? Not the same thing. We totally should develop middle 6 players, it’s the 4th liners I couldn’t care less. Sure it’s nice for depth but you can always sign them for less than 1M or trade for them for a 5-7th pick.

Defensemen you can never have too many and decent depth D are still expensive and hard to get, so yes we should develop those. 4th liners however, I don’t really care.

I think draft picks are overvalued too, and most draft picks lose 50+% of their value the moment they turn into a player.
