Big, fast, aggressive, versatile ... custom built to play Mo hockey. You KNEW they weren't blowing that lead in the third. Kudos to them. They've been a force all season and they earned that one. Hopefully they've got enough left in the tank to do it to Vegas too. Feel good anti-establishment stories aside, I'm completely in the bag for Mo at this point. Nothing would make me happier than a Tampa/Winnipeg final.

But would it make the NHL and their advertisers happy? Kurtzie, you can weigh in on that topic. Winnipeg is an amazing hockey market in Manitoba, but how about overall?
Yeah, they really are the best constructed team in the league. High end offense, very strong defense and good goaltending.
And lots of size and speed.
Yeah, all they're really missing is experience. Maurice has been there/done that (two conference finals and one Cup Final) and Stasny clearly has a lot of playoff time under his belt, as does Buff. The rest, not so much. But then again, aside from Flower and Neal, Vegas ain't exactly grizzled.

I thought Game 1 in ECF was Saturday. Duh....lol
So, Tampa managed to pretty much duplicate the game they played in the first game of their series with Boston. Congrats? At least they fought back from the 4-0 hole and put a couple on the board in the 3rd period. They'll play better than that for sure, but they did give Washington all the confidence in the world. So, congrats on that.

So, Washington came to play in the East and Tampa ... dunno what they came to do. Two overwhelming road wins and the Caps are headed home with a 2-0 series lead. Tampa need a defibrillator or something.
Game 2 in the West is tonight, but Winnipeg put the clamp on Vegas pretty hard in Game 1. That one looks to be a long hard slog either way.

Tampa has failed to show...has anyone even told the Bolts the series has started? Terrible goaltending, nonexistent defense, just a brutal start to a Conference Final for the so called best team in the East.

Good thing that the Vegas/Jets series has been entertaining. So much of the playoffs it seems has just been blowouts and not very interesting hockey. Tampa/Washington is a good example of that. Still time but my interest has waned a little bit.

With the Canes having been bad for so long, I find staying interested in the playoffs and being hyped is a challenge. There are good games and fun games right now, but when your favorite team has been a cellar dweller for years with very little to cheer about, it does suck the life out of what the rest of the league is doing. I find myself hoping for Winnipeg to make an appearance in the STFs, but they're looking a bit worn right now. And as much I as I am not a Tampa fan, I've always liked Ryan Callahan.

500-1 for Vegas to win the Cup at the start of the season. I wonder what the largest bet was and who made it. Vegas looks hard to bet against at this point. Almost seems like a team of destiny and Fleury is putting together one of the all-time great playoff runs.
