I'm still new so not sure what's happened in the past, but when can we start throwing guys on the DL, then? I thought we could go above the limits for now as long as we got back below by the start of the season (either cutting guys or throwing them on the DL). Plus would be nice to know who drafts the unprotected guys to not have to cut people needlessly.

I'll live with whatever rules we decide to go by, but would be nice to confirm so that I know when to drop guys.
 
FYI, I'm working an OJHL playoff game tonight if Blueman doesn't pick before 4. I won't be able to make my selection until 11:00pm tonight or so.

Its basically in line with major league baseball, you have to remove players from the DL in the offseason and use a roster spot on them (or a keeper slot in our league)......and then can place them back on the DL to open a slot when they're placed on the real MLB DL & on Fantrax. (Usually close to the start of the MLB season).

DL isn't usable currently to stash players and create free roster spots for draftees & prospects,...got to stick within the 25 roster players & 30 minor leaguer limits once the draft kicks off.

Ideally when you make your pick, or as soon after as you can get to Fantrax to do so. No teams should ever be exceeding the 25/30 limits.

Side note for the new guys as well.....if you have a unprotected player drafted from your team, (for example let's say HP drafts Alcides Escobar from me with his 5th rounder)......he would send me a trade offer on Fantrax of that now used 2016 5th Round Pick in exchange for Escobar.

That saves teams from having to drop the player, them going through waivers etc....or Deckie having to make the player swap for everyone manually.


Also, no team can lose more than 3 unprotected players per draft....once someone loses 3, their other two remaining "unprotected" players, effectively become protected.

It's been about 24 hours. Would it be safe to say we can skip the pick or is their anyway to get ahold of leafman 101. Or should we give him more time ?
 
I PMd 101 this morning. You'd also assume that he'd check in from time to time.

I'd say it's more than reasonable for Hairnova to pick now.
 
Yep. If you can make 20 posts a day in the leaf forum, you can certainly find 5 minutes to pop in here for a pick. Nova is up.
